Paris by the Numbers

Until such time I can post pictures and recover from jet lag sufficiently to post some proper blog posts with details about my trip to Paris, this summary will suffice.

284 – Steps to the roof level of the Arc d’Triomphe

189 – Steps up from the catacombs. One assumes it was just as many down also, though hard to tell, as it was all spiral staircases and dizziness.

1.5 km – Distance to walk through the mine tunnels to reach the actual ossuary.

300+ - Steps to the first level of the Eiffel Tower.

1335+ - Steps from second to third level.

2 – Lifts we took to get to the third level of the Eiffel Tower. You don’t think we actually CLIMBED there, do you???

850 – How many years old Notre Dame is.

173 – Stained-glass windows in Notre Dame.

32 – Average temperature during the day.

24 – Paintings by Van Gogh on display at the Musee d’Orsay.

8 – Stories of stairs walked up to get to yet another street to go around a corner and up another hill to get to the Basilique du Sacre-Couer.

1 – Funicular ride taken down the hill from Sacre-Couer.

4 - Nights for which we were supposed to have our hotel reservation.

3 - Actual nights our reservation was for.

3 – Street crepes eaten and enjoyed.

2 – Number of times a bag or backpack was left behind on a train or bus and not recovered.

1 – Dragon residing underneath Cinderella’s castle.

Uncountable – People who were kind and willing to help.

Infinite – fun and adventures.

When – Will I return?
